Coscan Construction Wins Two 2006 Excellence in Construction Awards

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL— November 2, 2006—Fort Lauderdale based Coscan Construction, acting as general contractor for two luxury residential developments in South Florida, won awards for two projects that recognize the very best in South Florida construction. The awards were presented by the Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast Chapter (ABC) for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects that are judged to be “the best of the best.” ABC is the voice of the commercial, industrial and institutional construction industry in South Florida.

Coscan Construction won the Eagle in Multi Family Residences $5 to $15 million category for NoLa Lofts in Fort Lauderdale, a 52-unit condominium developed by Downtown Lofts, LLC that was completed two months ahead of schedule and under budget.

Coscan Construction also received a Merit Award in the Multi Family Residential $30 to $70 million category for Uptown Marina Lofts in Aventura. Developed by Investura, LLC, this 216 waterfront luxury condominium is on 6.17 acres and includes a marina that offers 31 boat slips for vessels up to 60 feet.

Projects are nominated by ABC Florida East Coast Chapter members and reviewed by an independent panel of industry judges. They are judged on a number of factors, including innovative safety programs, value engineering, quality control and complexity of the project.
